If you are looking for kids’ room colour ideas, our colour gurus recommend that you opt for zesty colours such as aqua blue, bright green, sunny orange, or even a combination of two colours or more. However, do keep in mind that kids are inherently inquisitive. This translates to endless scribbles, drawings and handprints on the walls of their rooms no matter what the colour on the wall. Therefore, it is best to opt for washable paints for their room. When you paint your walls with Berger Easy Clean, you just have to wipe the surface with soap to get back spotless walls again!

  2. When we feel different emotions, have you observed that there are subtle colour changes on our faces? The blood flows in the face, changing the colour that other people around you can easily notice. In fact, according to research, people can properly identify someone's emotions from these colour changes up to 75% of the time. Interestingly, researchers have also designed an algorithm to recognise human emotion up to 90%. Isn't that amazing? This means that being "blue in the face" with anger is much more than an old idiom.

Colours & Gems For January 2022

Gem
  1. Garnet

The mesmerising blood-red gemstone that you are looking at is known as garnet. The name originates from the medieval Latin word ‘granatus’, meaning ‘pomegranate’, owing to its resplendent colour. During the Bronze Age, garnets were used as gemstones and abrasives. Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt used to wear necklaces studded with red garnets. In Ancient Rome, signet rings featured garnet intaglios, which were used to stamp the wax and secure confidential, official documents. During the Middle Ages, the clergy and nobility had a preference for red garnets as well. In present times, this gemstone is considered the birthstone of those born in January. It is believed to bring good health, wealth and happiness to its wearers. Taking inspiration from the beautiful colour of this gemstone, you can pay the perfect ode to it using a luster paint from Berger Paints India for your walls.

  2. Agate

What you are looking at is the gemstone known as Agate. Translucent in nature, agate is considered a semi-precious gemstone and is desired by gemstone collectors for its excellent quality and wonderful colour. Agate usually forms due to the deposition of silica from groundwater in the crevices and cavities of igneous rocks. Agate is found throughout the world. In the United States, it is produced in several western states namely Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. It is believed that Agate helps cleanse and stabilise the aura, getting rid of negative energy. This gem is known to enhance concentration, perception and analytical abilities of the wearer.

Colours & Nature For January 2022

  1. Wood Duck

The interesting creature floating in the water in the photograph has an equally interesting name, known as the ‘wood duck’. However, the name is not to be taken literally. One of the most recognisable birds in the United States, the wood duck does exist! It has red eyes, a red bill with a yellow patch at the base. The top of the head and crest flaunts a metallic purple-green shade. The sides of its face are black with a white stripe running along its neck. The duck also has a small white stripe extending up each of its cheeks. The chest and the rump are deep red while the sides are yellow with black and white stripes at the edges. Its belly is white, its tail and back are black, and its wings are black and blue. Explore Berger’s shade card, taking inspiration from the colours found on the bird’s body and add similar hues to your home.

  2. Eurasian Hoopoe

The fascinating bird in the photograph is the Eurasian Hoopoe. It is a medium-sized bird with a long, thin tapering black-coloured bill. It has a crest that resembles a Chinese fan, making it a sight for sore eyes. The bird has broad and rounded wings that enable strong flight, looking like a giant butterfly, due to the wings half closing at the end of each beat or short sequence of beats. This bird is truly nature’s wonderful creation and a bird photographer’s delight!
