This year, Met Gala, the annual fundraiser extravaganza celebrated the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” exhibition with a fascinating “Gilded Glamour and White Tie” affair. The MET gala theme took wonderful inspiration from significant moments in film, fashion, society and architecture. When Met Gala guests walked into the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Great Hall on the night of the event, they were welcomed with an entrance designed by the Statue of Liberty’s eternal flame of enlightenment, created by Richard Morris Hunt, one of the Gilded Age’s greatest architects as an artistic homage to the fascinating era.
