Most of us are aware that colour can make a huge difference to how we feel even on the most regular days. This case is intensified with those who are diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, Autism and other similar conditions. Affected individuals have problems with sensory integration due to which colours appear more vibrant and intense, making them even more excitable and hyper. Cool colours and neutral shades are the best options when dealing with a case such as this rather than opting for bright or dark colours. Using distemper paint in cooling colours on the walls can help people with such conditions.

  2. Bright and strong colours such as primary red, yellow and orange have a powerful effect on a baby, causing restlessness and making the little one cry. Bold patterns and strong contrasting colours can be disturbing and overwhelming for the baby. It is a good idea to use soft tones of yellows, creams, pinks, peaches and baby blues that radiate warmth and peace. Our colour experts believe that this can be emotionally soothing and comforting for the little one. You can even go for peachy apricots, soft pastels and minty greens if you want a more gender-neutral shade in the baby’s room.

  1. Paraiba Tourmaline

The stunning gemstone in the photograph is called Paraiba Tourmaline. It was discovered in the 1980s by Heitor Dimas Barbosa who spent many years digging in the hills of the Brazilian state of Paraiba on a hunch that something extraordinary was hidden there. This gemstone comes in rare shades of greens and blues, reminding of the blue ocean shores of Paraiba, where this gem is mined. The shades are wonderful to derive inspiration from, especially if you are looking for a beautiful wall paint combination. Interestingly, except for Paraiba, these unique, bright blue and green colours are not seen in any other gemstone on the planet! Today, Paraiba Tourmaline has become one of the most sought-after gems.

  2. Beryl

The gemstone that you are looking at is called Beryl. It is one of the most valuable of all coloured gemstones. It is a 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale and is found in Africa, Russia, Colombia, Brazil, Pakistan and California. The name is derived from ancient Greek, 'beryllos', meaning "precious blue-green colour." As far as the legend goes, Beryl was used to keep off evil spirits and demons. According to ancient literature notes, Pliny used powdered Beryl to cure injuries related to the eyes. It is also believed to protect travellers from danger and to treat spine and heart disorders. It is also known to help with marital love and bring happiness into lives.
