chakra stones

Reiki for Good Sleep!

The chakras are spiritual energy centres within our body. There are seven main chakras running right from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. When all the chakras along this channel are open, energy moves freely across the body. However, when one or more is blocked, the individual faces physical and emotional issues. One of the issues faced is sleep disturbance. Once you understand this chakra-sleep connection, you can figure what can be done to tackle it.

The crown and the root chakra are the two chakras most commonly related to sleep issues.

Connection between the crown chakra and sleep

The crown chakra is situated two inches above the head. It is all about our connection to the divine. The crown chakra is linked to the pineal gland in the brain. Sunlight influences the pineal gland, which in turn affects the circadian rhythm – the sleep–wake cycle through the production of cortisol and melatonin.

Typical insomnia is associated with the crown chakra. When the crown is blocked or imbalanced, we feel disconnected from ourselves and our surroundings, leading to feelings of sadness, which can be accompanied by sleep issues.

Connection between the root chakra and sleep

The root chakra deals with our sense of safety in the world and can be blocked by fear. If you are dealing with sleeplessness with the underlying issue being anxiety, then it is most likely related to the root chakra. The root chakra governs the fight-or-flight response. When the physiology of the body prepares to fight or flight, we remain alert. When this happens, it hinders sleep.

The imbalance caused by root chakra usually leads to insomnia that makes you feel tired but wired. When this happens, we often are in a dilemma about what is safe and what isn’t.

Reiki chakra stones to the rescue!

You can add some chakra stones such as Green Calcite, Rose Quartz and Fluorite to your nightly routine to help you get a better night's rest. You can either place it in your bedroom or wear it before going to sleep.

Vastu Tips For Placing Ganesha At Home

Vaastu Tips For Placing Ganesha At Home

Lord Ganesha is considered the God of joy, happiness and prosperity. This makes it important to place the idol in the right corner of the house. Follow some Vastu tips for placing Ganesha at home and remove all obstacles from your life.

The colour of the Ganpati murti holds significance

White murti of Lord Ganesha stands for peace and prosperity. Even sticking photos of white Ganesha is considered to be powerful. For those seeking self-growth, vermilion-coloured Ganesha is believed to be the right choice and considered auspicious according to Vaastu.

The posture of the idol is symbolic

For worshipping within the walls of your home, the sitting posture of Ganesha is considered ideal. Our Vaastu experts believe that this posture represents a calm and composed demeanour, promoting a peaceful home environment. The reclining Ganesha represents comfort, wealth and luxury. If you desire these things in life, then you can go for a Ganpati in this posture.

Consider the direction of the trunk

It is important to consider the direction of the trunk while looking for a Ganpati idol. According to the principles of Vaastu, the trunk of the sitting Ganesha should be tilted towards his left. This symbolises happiness and success. An idol whose trunk is tilted towards its right represents the power of the sun. Proper rituals need to be followed while worshipping this particular idol.

Pay attention to the little details

According to mythology, the tiny mouse is believed to be the vehicle of the mighty Lord Ganesha and ‘modak’ is considered his favourite sweet. Therefore, while bringing home an idol, make sure the mouse and the ‘modak’ are included.

The right offering

A small bowl of rice placed in front of the idol of Ganesha is a great offering. It is recommended that you place the Ganesha idol on a raised platform.

Hope you find these Vaastu principles helpful and it enriches your life just the way you want it to!
