Your home is undoubtedly your haven but there are some special nooks and corner, or rooms that you often end up spending more time in than others. More often than not, it is your bedroom where you’re most comfortable; it is the place where you unwind, where you see the first light of the day and therefore, it stands to reason that your bedroom should be the best decorated room too.
This edition, we have for you some simple style tips to spruce up your bedroom and make it a place even harder to leave when your morning alarm goes off!
1. Carpets or Rugs
There is nothing more annoying than stepping onto cold wooden or marble floors in a sleepy haze every morning. It sends a shock through you and is definitely not an ideal way to wake up. Cover the floor with a carpet entirely or select one long enough that extends a few feet either side of your bed.
2. Throw Pillows
While throw pillows make for uncomfortable back and head rests, they are awesome for cuddling with or just some extra support. Pad your cozy bed further with throw pillows covered in different colours and textures to add some depth to the look! The pillows need not be the exact same and can be of varying sizes and shapes too.
3. Wall Design
For your bedroom to be calming, it is very important for it to look well aired and uncluttered. Having a good bedroom wall design goes a long way in determining that. Select soothing tones, or mirrors with ornate borders that give your nook a beautiful touch.
4. Pastels on walls
You can change the atmosphere of your bedroom by incorporating delicate hues. Pastel shades such as peach, powder blue, baby blue, light pink or mauve can give your bedroom walls a soft and an absolutely charming look.
5. Photographs and Artwork
Most people have both, photos and artwork scattered all over their homes, but the ones framed here are always slightly more personal. You must take your time choosing which pieces of art or photographs you would want to display in your bedroom. Art pieces that speak to you or are calming are preferable over chaotic pieces since those are unsettling.
6. A Smaller Seating Arrangement
Instead of having the bed as the only place where you can sit, having either a small seating arrangement in one side of the room, or a single armchair, settee etc. are great to have. You can sit there when you don’t intend to sleep but still want to relax in the bedroom.
7. Complementing Accents
Paint your wall accents in shades that complement the accessories and furniture in your home for a unified look, this will make your room feel grander. Contrasting overdoses won’t do justice to the overall decor. Instead, use accents on your walls and use contrasting art or accessories to elevate the space.
8. Textured Walls
Textured walls are great to highlight elaborate centerpieces, simple decor pieces, or just to fill up empty walls without the addition of any expensive add-ons. Glam up your personal space with interesting textures and get maximum impact with minimal investment.
These tips will help you make your bedroom a little more snug and pleasant for you to be able to relax at the end of a long day and have your bedroom look like a slice of paradise!
